Thundermother is an all-female Swedish hard rock band founded by Filippa Nässil and Moa Munoz in Växjö 2009. The band has toured with Scorpions across Europe and North America, played with Kiss, Danish rock band D-A-D and Swedish rock band Backyard Babies.

With their roots in Dublin, Ireland, the folk metal band Cruachan have staggered their melodic Celtic inspired metal all over the world since 1992. The band is pioneers in the folk metal genre and is recognized as one of the founders of their genre, the band has arguably gone the furthest of all in their attempts to expand this still largely unexplored subgenre. With a brutal but yet delicate mix of traditional Celtic music, pure metal and the use of Celtic mythology in their lyrics, the band has built a large and dedicated fanbase all over the world. 

The band has released eight albums and will be releasing their ninth album via Despotz Records in 2023.

And with that, Donna Cannone was born. Former Thundermother member Giorgia Carteri (guitars) and her fellow Italian colleague Luca D’Andria themselves heading to a rehearsal room a short while ago to play some music and, in their own words, ‘have some fun.’ Giorgia’s former Thundermother bandmate Tilda Nilke Nordlund was brought in on drums as the trio began putting together a number of new songs. A knock at the door brought a surprise as, guitar in hand, Bjorn ‘Speed’ Strid (Soilwork, The Nightflight Orchestra) had heard what the band were up to and wanted in. Soon the quartet were recording demos, and one of these demos fell into the hands of Swedish label Despotz Records and a deal was soon done.

Nekromant is a Heavy Metal-trio from Sweden, forged between two mountains in their home village of Vargön which translates to Wolf Island. The band was first formed back in 2011 under the moniker Serpent, and have since then released three full length albums, drawing inspiration from Judas Priest, Grand Magus, Black Sabbath and Pentagram, to name a few.

Nekromant is, and has been for the last five years, one of the most active, powerful, tightest and prominent live bands within the Swedish underground scene. They have played more than 100 shows, which includes seven European tours and nearly every club and festival in Sweden worth mentioning.  

In 2020 the band signed a deal with Swedish label Despotz Records and are set to release their fourth album in 2021.

The experimental, melancholic, often dark and ambient solo artist Nolavær emerged during the past year. Nolavær paints cinematic sceneries for the listeners. Filippa Nässil (founder, songwriter and guitar player in Thundermother) spent two months and three weeks in the USA touring with Thundermother in the fall of 2022 supporting the band Scorpions. On off days from playing she wrote lyrics for what came to be her upcoming debut solo album “American Diaries”, that is set for release autumn 2024. The album will contain both English and Swedish versions of all the tracks on the album. Her first single "San Francisco (Swedish Version) is being released April 12, 2024.

She booked the studio in Skåne, Klippan, Sweden (Lemon Recording Studio) whilst still in the States and wrote the music for the album in one month after coming home and recorded it in December 2022 and mixed it in Medley Studios march 2023 in Copenhagen.

Filippa started Thundermother 2009, she studied music production and guitar before that. In 2022 she studied in distance at London Songwriting Academy and she thanks one of her teachers Shelly Poole for pushing her to do a solo album.

About her first single "San Francisco (Swedish Version)", and how it came to be, she had this to say:

San Francisco is a part of my theme album “American Diares”. After two and a half months into the American tour with Thundermother supporting the Scorpions, and a month without my fiancé, he finally came to visit. We embarked on a journey to Ashbury, gazing out at the waters near Alcatraz, exploring Janis Joplin's former residence, and strolling through the neighborhood. Our reunion was filled with deep love, stronger than ever before.“.

“American Diaries” is what it sounds like, her time in Chicago meeting her blues idol “Buddy Guy” and his family, she even got invited to his birthday party turning 86 years old. On “Buddy Guy’s Blues” she plays with his son “Greg Guy”. On “Green Fields Of Napa” she tells the story of getting accidentally high, eating food on a winery, on “Richmond, Virginia” about her favorite food mexican tacos called ‘pastor’, on “San Fransisco” when her boyfriend came to visit and the joy that brought, on “For Rudy”, she sings about her time in Texas, ending up on a night club and the new friends she made there. “Mount Shasta” is her personal favorite, high up in the mountains of north California, missing her love wishing she could share that beauty with him.

“American Diaries” is a map over the USA, but in songs written, played and sung both in Swedish and English versions, by Filippa Nässil.
